Poon Hill Trek - 9 Days

Detailed Itinenary

• Day 01

  Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representatives will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. After refreshment and lunch, you will be briefed in short about your tour by our guide and start an interesting tour around Kathmandu city. To give you a taste of Nepalese culture, heritage and local people, you will be escorted to infamous Kathmandu Valley UNESCO World Heritage Sites Kathmandu Durbar Square. Overnight stay at the hotel.

• Day 02

  After an early morning breakfast, we will drive to Pokhara (202km) from Kathmandu, approximately five and half hours away by private vehicle. Our lunch will be at a restaurant on our way to Pokhara. On day 2, as a preparation for the adventurous trek the next day, you will have free time to relax and rejuvenate your body in Pokhara city. Overnight stay at the hotel.

• Day 03

  After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to Nayapul, about an hour and a half drive, where we will meet and briefed in short about your tour by our hiking guide. Afterwards, we will commence hiking to the first destination Ulleri. Overnight stay at hotel.

• Day 04

  Early hike to beautiful Ghorepani will begin right after breakfast at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

• Day 05

  Ghorepani—Poonhill —Deurali—Tadapani—Ghandruk We will wake up at 4:30 to climb Poon Hill. You'll notice the difference in the climate as well as the flora around you as you climb higher. The forest will become denser and more humid, with beautiful flowers everywhere and you'll see more and more rhododendrons. After experiencing the majestic views from the hill, we will enjoy breakfast. After breakfast we will hike to Tadapani and then to Ghandruk where we will sit for lunch. We will have rest of the day to enjoy and experience the beautiful village that sit on the lap of Himalayas. Overnight stay at hotel.

• Day 06

  After an early morning breakfast with a beautiful view of the forest and Himalayas, we will set out for a short morning hike to further experience Ghandruk. Afterward, we will make our way back to Nayapul and to Pokhara, which is about 2 hours drive from Ghandruk. Overnight stay at hotel.

• Day 07

  After an early morning breakfast, you will be escorted to Phewa Lak. The view of Fishtail and other mountains reflected in the lake, the little island and the Tal Barahi temple in the middle, the white stupa on the top of the hill and the gliders jumping from Sarangkot, all at once can be seized in the mild breeze over the Phewa Lake. At Phewa Lake, you can choose a different type of boats; the traditional or old-fashioned joined two boats with planks & pedals in the middle, rowboats, and sailboats to modern fibred-body sailboats and wooden ones. After Phewa lake, we will drive to Davis Falls, where you can witness a water fall that fall into the underground cave carved by the powerful flow of the water. We will return to Kathmandu later in the afternoon. After we arrive, you will have free time to enjoy and relax the streets of Kathmandu after a long hike. An authentic Nepalese dinner with an amazing cultural show will mark the end of the night.

• Day 08

  After an early breakfast at the hotel, we will drive back to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, you will visit iconic Boudhanath Stupa, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the biggest and one of the most important stupas of Nepal. In the afternoon, you will be escorted to Nagarkot. It’s known for its views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest to the northeast, which are especially striking at sunrise and sunset. The surrounding scrubland is laced with trails and home to many butterflies. Overnight stay at hotel.

• Day 09

  After a good night sleep, a delicious breakfast is served before your transfer to the airport to catch your flight.
